"Cannot get audio fast enough" question
I'm a long time ProTools user, I've always followed the rules and have had pretty stable systems.
Recently my rig has been throwing up "Cannot get audio from the drive fast enough" errors, on small sessions, maybe 10 tracks, my audio drive is a 10,000 rpm Raptor so I was surprised to see this error (especially as the system has been running flawlessly for over a year) A clue has presented itself, at bootup my system drive has started to report bad sectors, and I am going to replace it, however that got me thinking could there be a correlation between the ProTools error messages and the failing C drive? However no audio lives on the C drive.. So my question is: Would the "Cannot get audio fast enough" messages be triggered by EZDrummer, which installs onto the C drive? I always thought it loaded the drumsounds into RAM..? Any thoughts? I'm going to be annoyed if the errors persist when the new drives in! (And I'll be installing EZDrummer onto my D drive just in case) Cheers, -Steve

Re: "Cannot get audio fast enough" question
It could be - I'd be curious to see if the new drive fixes the problem. I actually have a separate drive for all VI sample libraries which is recommended to avoid those kinds of errors.

Re: "Cannot get audio fast enough" question
Any time I see a message of "Can't get audio fast enough" I suspect the drive is getting ready to fail. The only time I have ever had that message, I did have a recording drive fail
