192 is not much RAM even with OS9.

Is that a Beige G3 or an iMac?

Mimimum RAM requirement for PTLE 7.x is 768MB. Even earlier versions required at least 384. I'm surprised PT will even load with 192.

You should sell that G3 or trade it in on something newer. You can get a used Mac Mini Core Duo for around $600. You will be amazed at the difference. You might even be able to get $100 or more for the G3 on a trade in. A processor upgrade and a RAM upgrade will cost you more than a new machine - or about the same. A new machine will give you a faster bus, faster RAM, and better peripheral connectivity than is possible with the G3.

Check these guys out. www.powermax.com

They have used Macs with a 90 day warranty and they take trade-ins (although the G3 may be too old even for them). Seriously consider one of the new iMacs or at least a Mac Mini Core Duo. They kick butt for not much money.

Really...that G3 is not something you want to try to make music on. It will be very frustrating - at best. It's kind of like trying run an old Pentium II. Dump it asap.
