I don't own any reverb plugs, other than D-Verb.

Here is a mix I did, with D-Verb on the drums, just a little on the lead vocals, a bit more on the backup vocals, a dash on the guitars and organ. I'm proud of this mix, but I'll take any critique I can get.

I can understand how certain types of music (and esp. film and TV) would benefit from Altiverb or similar, but I must say I don't long for a reverb plug. It could be because I don't know what I'm missing, but it could also be that I've really learned how to use D-Verb.

I second TL Space. It is an awesome reverb. When you compare the digiverb to TL space it just does not sound as nice.

Wavearts Masterverb! You can get version 4 for under 100 bucks, and version 5 for $199...I just upgraded 4 to 5 and haven't had time to play with it yet, but I can say 4 does everything I need it to. Great support from these guys, BTW. www.wavearts.com

If you're willing to deal with the latency issues involved, it's hard to beat SiR at any price. You'll need the VST adapter ($100) but SIR itself is free. Smex Ambiance is another free VST reverb that sounds great - not as good as SIR but without the latency problems.

Oxford Reverb, soft and warm, great on synthesized or sampled strings.

Hey Naagh, mix sounds great! IS that your band ???? Sounds a little Zeppelin-like cool stuff.
Did you use a medium plate verb for everything or was it room? Snare and kick sounded nice.

I am wondering about the VST wrapper, is it worth it? Are there that many plug's to be had for free that are amazing in sound quality? I mean I like really dig massey plugs, and they're free ,but they may sound as rich and complex as WAVES platnium plugs.

Am I better to save my beans for a vintage pcm lexicon reverb??

Allow me to chime in..
Until recently I wasn't using many (if any at all) plugins at home.
I bought the UAD1 Ultrapack and the "Plate 140" as well as the "Dreamverb" won me over. Quite usable, good quality simulations. I would highly recommend these...of course one needs the card, but you'll find loads of other great plugs on it.
In the studio we are strictly using hardware reverbs..many of them.

good luck,
a

Waves IR-1
Altiverb
TL Space

All are great, all are much better than DVerb, and all have Native versions.
