Default FXPantion\'s VST to RTAS or VST to Rewire

Finaly my pryers are answered, VST softsynths for Pro Tools. But which FXPansion converted is better for a Windows based PT LE system (VST to RTAS or VST to Rewire). What are the advantages and disadvantages of each. Thanks, Justin

If your main recording application is protools, i would go for the VST/RTAS wrapper. If you have other programs that can use rewire ,i would go for the rewire thing.

I just got the vst/rtas wrapper and it simply works.....its amazing. Fxpansion also got their problems with the web purchase ironed out. I got my email within seconds.

Yeah, I have to second that. The wrapper is sweet. Wish I'd developed it.

So will I be able to run Spetraonics Trilogy, Atmosphere, and Styles on my PC based Pro Tools LE system? Moog Modular V too?

I heard some bad things about the moog in the wrapper though...

It produced crashes for Inteldoc....

Moog Modular V is RTAS already. It worked well ( the demo ) on my system but ate the CPU. Other people have found it incompatible with other plug-ins.

Personally, I tried the original and almost quit music after trying to understand where the 18,000 cables should go. I ain't planning on learning the virtual one either.

On the other hand, Atmosphere is working flawlessly on my system with the wrapper.

I just read that the Moog crashes PT when used in the wrapper. That sucks, I think its a good sounding VST. I hope they get that bug fixed.

You must have posted at the same time as me. The MOOG doesn't need the wrapper.

Hi!
The ReWire adapter will work with VSTi only, and will basically allow one to use VST instruments via rewire. Why would one need this if they have the VST-RTAS wrapper? For multiple audio streams

While not everyone will want or need this functionality, I for one will be quite happy to be able to open something like Kontakt, load up a nice drum kit, and then have a seperate audio out for each instrument in the kit
