Default Syncing protools with PC

Hi, anyone knows if this is possible? I have been running my home studio with Yamaha DSPFactory on Cubase VST/24 on a PC and I plan on syncing a 002R on G5 (in know about the compatibility issues, waiting for phase 2 update) with it by SMPTE. Reason being, a HD protools is a bit too expensive for me, and 002R mixing capabilities is very limited in comparison to my current setup. DSP FActory is a dedicated mixing card that does nothing except mixing, however it has its own weaknesses etc. So i thought of this idea, and technically should work isn't it?? So I will be using both PC and MAC synced together by SMPTE. Mixdown is done also on both machines or it could be bounced to either one. Its a bit of a hastle I realise, but I'm prepared for it. My question is would it work? I can always run on 1 of them at a time for small projects.
