record button sticks

hey , im new. this is my first post.

my question is...when i hit record , no matter what mode it is in, the play and record buttons on the transport flash 5 or 6 times then starts playing and recording. did i hit something by accident? what can i do to stop this because its kind of annoying. thanks!

i didnt mean it like that, sorry. i mean when it flashes it doesnt start recording or anything right away it takes about 8 seconds before it starts recording. when normally when i hit record it just starts recording. i guess i should have said recording stalls for about 8 seconds before it will start, and i dont think there is a pre roll set. it just started happening out of nowhere.

You've prob got the 2-bar count in enabled.
Check your transport bar.

Sometimes this can happen when PT tries to figure out how much hard drive space is available for use in PT. You might try going to Setup>Preferences>Operation and change "Open Ended Record Allocation" to something like 10 minutes if it is set to use all available space.
