Default Graphics lock up in Pro Tools 7

I just upgraded to Pro Tools 7.0. I am using a DigiDesign 002 rack and a PC running Windows XP Home.

I can open and play my older Pro Tools sessions, but as soon as I click on anything, the graphics freeze (the audio continues to play). It's like the audio works but the graphics don't. The cursor scrolls for just a few seconds and then locks up. Also, plug-ins take forever to insert and remove. Everything worked just fine before the upgrade. Is this a known issue?

Any ideas why this is happening? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Pro Tools and even trashed all my databases and preferences, emptied my recycle bin, and restarted. Same problem after reinstalling. Help!

Do you have graphic problems when your not using any plugins? The plugins might need to be updated and also try disabling save back up copies. I have same setup as you and it works now since I did that. The graphics problem could be your video card compatibility but I think its your plugins. Try getting rid of them on the session and save as and open it again and see what happens.

I tried removing all plug-ins, did a "Save As," and re-opened the session, but it didn't help. I also tried opening up a brand new session, with no plug-ins at all, and just one track. Same results.

My video card is a Radeon 7000/Radeon VE by made ATI Technologies.
