Axiom Pro - Hypercontrol keyboard w/Protools 8 LE

Hello,

I'm new to the whole protools and midi world. I recently posted a thread or two on using BFD2 and other vitrual intrumnets via Protools and had trouble making sounds. Of course I was told I need some sort of Midi controller to create the midi tracks without doing it by hand. So, I purchased the Axiom Pro 61 keyboard with the hypercontrol abilities. Nice keyboard and would be nicer if I could get it to actually work.

I followed the M-Audio guide and setup Protools 8 LE to use it as a device. Not that difficult I would say 4 steps tops. The only think I could get it to do is play using the play button on the keyboard. Stop, sliders, keys, and everything else does nothing. No sound no control.

I'm using this on a Vista Laptop with the MBox2 unit and the Axiom Pro both via USB.

Protools is up todate on patches and I tried the latest Axiom drivers.

If someone could kindly take a few minutes to explain and maybe walk through the setup process would be great.

Can you tell us exactly how you have it configured in the Peripherals window?

Sure,

In Setup- Peripherals then Midi controllers I have set in the #1 position
M-Audio Keybord
In the Recived from I have Axiom Pro Hypercontrol In
In the Send to I have Axiom Pro hupercontrol out
#ch's I have 8 set.

From here is claims it will work to control Pro Tools. Yet it controls nothing but play. Maybe I need to reset the keyboard even though I have not modified any settings on it yet.

Hello everyone. I just got my M audio pro 61. The drivers are only up to PT 7.4???WThaaaa Does anyone know how I can make this controller work in PT 8 HD??? Transport controls, etc.? Where can I find a compatible PT 8 driver for it? Can't find it on M audio's website. Look on digidesign.com. No luck either. I remember seeing the video demo on Didgidesign.com. I said, cool!! got to get one. Now I got one. The damm thing doesn't control nada..

and I can't find the current drive anywhere. Please assist...PT 8 HD. Thanks

Does 'M-Audio Keyboard' show in the Type drop-down of the MIDI Controllers>Peripherals setup?

If so select 'Axiom Pro HyperControl In' in the 'Receive From' field and 'Axiom Pro HyperControl Out' in the 'Send To' field.

I can't use the hyper control functionality because my peripheral "receive from" menu doesn't have the hypercontrol option. It only has Axiom Pro, USB A In.

The Send is cool, but the receive only gives me one option. And that's for the USB A In, not HyperControl. Is there a setting on Pro Tools where I can make that option available? Thanks!
