New Mac pro's or Early 2013 mac pros?
Hey there guys, Have a solid question for all of you. My company is currently in the midst of building an Atmos mix theatre and I'm trying to decide What kind of computing power we want. The new mac pro's are appealing, but the high price, and the fact that in order to run our 5 HDX rigs we would need 5 magma chassis is un-appealing. In short, my question is:
On a full size dubbing theatre would you prefer Early 2013 12 Core mac pros or later 2013 12 core mac pros? Thanks!

Re: New Mac pro's or Early 2013 mac pros?
Thoughts.
It would be a lot of dough in noisy chassis New MacPro is Mavericks only, so co install not recommended, so it's PT 11 only Lots of external drives needed You would be right our there on the bleeding edge, a lot of pressure in a dub stage environment. Fwiw I just cross graded my HD3 to HDX and I chose to go with the last of the old 2012 Mac Pro towers. It's working great, both PT 10 and 11 with Mountain Lion. I'm sure you'll get plenty of opinions...... Good luck. Peter |
