PT8 HD backup license
I have a PT8 HD backup license on my dongle. Can I use this to upgrade to PT9 HD? My other PT8 HD iLok with the active license is being used on my other HD rig. I was hoping to be able to upgrade to PT9HD twice (Using the backup license and the active license) Does this make sense?

The upgrade uses your core card's serial. You will have to surrender your HD 8 auth for the upgrade. If you still have a backup, you should still be okay on that one. I'm uncertain as to whether the v9 will allow you to run v8.
