Feature request for next version
Is there some way that we could pan (spin) a Surround output bus leaving the relevant outputs within that output bus ie (L,R,C,LFE,LS,RS) maintaining their spatial relationship to each other?
I record with the Holophone Surround Microphones and this would be a very useful feature. Is their another way to achieve this that I am unaware of? |

Interesting concept. But technically, it does not make sense to me.
But again, most cool ideas don't make sense on paper. |

Re: Feature request for next version
Not with a bus I guess, but you could split the tracks into mono's and make a double 360 pan on one of the tracks. Suppose you pan round in 4 seconds, you make a panround of the left channel. After 2 seconds the position of the sound should be right surround.
Copy the pandata from the left channel, but starting from 1 second into the 360. Paste that to the right channel. Do the same (with the same offset) to the other channels. Lot of work, but could be an interesting effect with the right sound? Let me know if you find a better way and how it sounded in the end... |

Re: Feature request for next version
I've had to do this and used the Waves M360 surround manager (or S360 panner) to do an automated rotation.. I started doing this strictly by hand with automation of the regular panner (and a lot of copy and paste ignoring automation type and split monos) but the work was tempo based and taking a lot of time. The plugin made it easy.

Phew. That sounds like a lot of work and pretty difficult to maintain an accurate phase relationship. The plugin made it easy. So your saying that by using the S360 Surround panner you only have to automate the plugin? Oh say it is so. Mundoz Interesting concept. But technically, it does not make sense to me. But again, most cool ideas don't make sense on paper. Ok , say your perspective is first person........... To where your standing the road is behind you and an open field with crickets is in front of you ...... Now turn around |

That's exactly what I'm saying. If you haven't demoed the Waves plugins before (and I think since they went to v7 the demo periods are restarted) you can try it out for 14 days and see if it does what you want. Just demo the surround bundle (so you can demo the Mercury bundle another day...) and that should have all the toys you'd want to play with. |

Re: Feature request for next version
Now that is very pleasing to the ear, thanks Bscout.
