Default question about delay compensation

hello guys,

I purchased Ozone 5 plug-in today and now for the first time in my whole recording/pro tools experience, I'm seeing delay in my tracks.

I hold cmd(mac user) and click on "vol" twice for each track and check delay, it's around 1400 1500 on master fader. So I enabled delay compensation and set it to "long" (says it's around 4000 samples). sound is fine, I sense no delay, no out-of-sync tracks, nothing. but my tracks still show the same amount of delay when I hold cmd again and check delay again (after I enable delay compensation). is it normal or something wrong?

second question: do you guys think I should just select the "maximum" option for delay compensation, regardless of how much delay I'm getting? I mean, would be like just in case?

thanks.

That's normal. Pro Tools doesn't remove plugin delay, it compensates for it. So you have to look at the CMP field to see what's actually being done to keep everything in line. If you activate "Delay Compensation" under your window view parameters, you will see all the delay engine parameters and you can leave the main "vol" field on "vol"!
