Is it worth upgrading to PY Ulitmate with i5 Processor?

I'm thinking about upgrading from PT standard to ultimate so that I start working on surround mixes.

The Avid website states that minimum requirements for Ultimate is an i7 Processor.

I'm currently running an iMac with an i5 processor (system details below) and I'm not particularly tech savvy when it comes to computer hardware and processing, so I don't know whether this means that there's no point in upgrading to Ultimate until I can upgrade my machine.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
