Default The worst thing on this fantastic system

Hi DUC

Working with audio instruments (rtas), quite often ends in a crash. It usually happens, when I've got 10-15+ instruments going.

NOW - The really anoying thing is that when that happens, and I reboot PT, it won't see the ICON, so I have to reboot the computer. So - a crash like that takes a lot of time.

I remember a while back, somebody mentioned that DIGI were working on an improved rtas engine... maybe they're still on it.

Any experiences on this?

Best,
Boe

Don't know anything about your issue per se, but EW Play 2.x isn't compatible with ICONs as I understand it.

I have the same problem with PT not seeing the ICON after a crash. It's really annoying.

That's really wired. So it didn't help to change ethernet cables ?

Since that day, all is fine and I'm using at least 15 VIs per song, too.

Also, I would power cycle the ICON units at he same time your computer is rebooting - that way, it clears out the ENET bus on the ICONs...

Thanks,
Tom

Boe
just curious....did it help to exchange the cables ?

I got one computer freeze and one PT-crash yesterday (one after inserting MelodyneEditor as 7th plug insert .... and the crash while inserting it as 1st and while GUI tries to open) .... but D-command went correct offline after some seconds.

After restarting Mac, and launching PT again. D-command went online again.
