Default PT9 and Hyperthreading?

I'm thinking it must support hyperthreading cause mt 27" iMac intel i7 Quad core is showing 8 cores !!! woohoo!! but is this right?

i have is set for 7 cores at 99% is this the preferred setting?
Everything seems to be running smoothly with excellent track counts and CPU usage!

Thanks!
Jeff

yes I know. my old dual core showed 2 cores and I always set it at one core.
I just installed 9 this weekend and on my quad core and expected i'd have to set it to 3 cores. I was pleasantly surprised to see 8 cores so i set it to 7......
just more surprised than anything.... i didn't read anything about HT support.

What I, and other i7 users do, is set it to 6. As setting it to 7 will still subtract power from the 8th thread (which is intended to run the OS and background tasks).

Happy trails with your new quad core

Nick
