Default Making Xpand! make sound

Hi There,
\Been searching these forums for the last hour and cannot find an answer to this one.
I've been through the who PT not seeing the Xpand plug and solved that on but now Xpand is open and my MIDI keyboard isn't triggering it. I drew in a few notes on the instrument track to bypass any potential keyboard problems and the MIDI notes I drew in aren't making any noise either. PT is making sound, the fader is up, there are no solos or mutes or anything. I've checked the MIDI studio set up and it's registering my Yamaha MIDI interface so I can asssume that the notes are reaching PT.

Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks

Did a restart and now it's making sound. Sounds very cool.

Now I have to figure why the MIDI keyboard isn't working in Tools. I was using last night to play some keys in Garageband, so I know that it's all hooked up correctly.

If I create a MIDI track, they USB/MIDI interface is there, so it is being recognised, just can't get the notes to play Xpand.

Thanks

Dave

A little closer...

I found the instrument view in the mix window and now I can confirm that the notes aren't making it to Xpand. The little meter doesn't light up at all. Funny thing is, I can select the USB/MIDI interfact that my keys are hooked up to, but alas, nothing. Also, the USB/MIDI interfact is lighting up when I play the keys, so the notes are making it that far. Frustration building....

Same as your other post in the MIDI Forum. Check MIDI Thru.

This thread was almost helpful. How do I 'check' MIDI thru? I'm new to PT and am not familiar with the procedure. I'm having the same problem with Xpand!

Edit: MIDI thru is checked (also tried unchecked) and I'm still getting no sound from Xpand! My other instruments work just fine.

csselement, could you give us some detail on how you have gone about this?

I installed Pro-Tools 7.0 yesterday (came with my Mbox2). Today I installed Xpand! off the included CD. Launched Pro-Tools and loaded up Xpand in an instrument track. The plug-in appears to load fine. I can load any of the presets. However, when I use my MIDI keyboard, I get no sound or visual response from Xpand. When I load another instrument in a different track, my MIDI keyboard works just fine. I've also tried drawing MIDI notes manually with the same result. I have checked and unchecked "MIDI thru" to make sure that setting wasn't the issue.

I see from your other posts today with spkguitar that you have not installed Pro Tools and related items on your system drive (C:). Is this still the case?
