Sound on some programs playing thru 001, some not.

I'm trying to get my apps sounds playing through my digi001. (using 001 with Pro Tools 6.4)

Windows Media Player works fine.
Sony Vegas Pro 8 (Video editor) works fine.
System sounds work fine (though I usually keep them turned off of course).
Internet Explorer does NOT work.
Quicktime stutters really badly.

I downloaded MME Helper, and dropped IE and Quicktime into the list, updated, but still no sound in IE and stuttering sound on Quicktime. It's odd because Sony Vegas has no problem at all using the 001 as the sound card, nor does Windows Media Player.

any ideas?

I'm having the exact same problem on my system, but I'm using digi 002 and PTLE 7.3. PT works great, WMP and system sounds also, but no IE and choppy quicktime/itunes. There must be a very specific reason for this discrepancy - any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm running Intel Core 2 Duo, WinXP SP2.

The choppy iTunes/Quicktime is because of a conflict between the Digidesign Wavedriver and Quicktime. The only way two ways around it are to load an older version of quicktime (and crippling iTunes), or using your computer soundcard for computer sounds and routing the audio through the alt src input of the 002/002R/003/003R. (Sorry, no such connection on the 001)

My personal preference is to use the computer soundcard for all generic computer audio and route through the alt src.

I finally bit the bullet and ditched/sold my 001. I've ordered an M-audio 410 and M-Powered 7. the 410 has been used with Sony Vegas with much success. and it's a good simple solution for me for now until I can get an 1814 or even a ProjectMix.

Sure was sad to pack up that 001 though. We been together for about 8 years! Good times, good times.
