Default Playback recording latency issues in PT11

Hello everyone!

I am having trouble with pt11 native software.

When i record at a low buffer setting(128) my recording is not latent but when i playback the recording it is. No plugins are on the tracks, i dont get it??

Pt 10 works just great, no playback issues

May I ask what you mean when you say, "my recording is not latent but when i playback the recording it is." Are you saying some tracks are not in time with others?

Gonna bump this because I ran into this as well. I had drum loops in my session and tracked guitar to them with no latency. But during playback there was a good deal of latency. I unchecked 'delay compensation' in the options menu and that cleared it up. Hope that helps.

Bump too. Just tracked a session today with Pro Tools 11 using RME Fireface UFX. With buffer size 64 and 128 the monitoring section while recording is okay and not late. But after I stopped the recording and listen to the result, it is late. I cannot provide the details on how many samples it was late, but I can assure that it is late.

Good Evening:

Scenario: Session opens up in protools 11. Multiple tracks. very few plugins being used. I overdub a vocal track...or guitar track the new tracks simply do not line up with the session - this is driving me crazy!!

iMac i7, 10.8.5, 16GB ram
UA Apollo Duo
Protools 11
LOW LATENCY MONITORING and DELAY COMP checked in PROTOOLS
HW BUFFER set at 32 SAMPLES

There must be a simple solution.

THANK YOU
Steve

You likely have to debug this one yourself.

What exact plugins are being used? AAX Native or UAD? UAD from Pro Tools or in the Apollo Console?

Trash prefs, try a new session. Do a clap/click test and work out what/where the latency is (turn off ADC and measure the actual latency of clapping along to a click track. If there is a horrible delay it should show up there. Worse case you can manually correct for that.

If you are able to track at 32 samples, you may not need LLM or ADC enabled. So play with all the combinations. First test is what happens when there are absolutely no plugins in use? What happens when ADC is disabled? What compensation is ADC trying to do to each track?

Set the MIX window to show delay compensation(View menu) and make sure compensation is ON(Options menu). Look at the numbers. Recently, my system has been applying compensation that is not called for(longest latency on any track due to plugins is 7 samples, but PT is applying 2048 samples to several, but not all tracks). Its some kind of bug, but its not consistent enough to solve. While recording, I simply turn off the delay compensation

BTW, its happening(sometimes) in both 11 and 12
