Default Distorted audio from Headphone amp!

I have an ART 5 channel headphone amp and I never get a clean sound from it when tracking with multiple players. It is always distorted. How do you connect this Headphone amp to an 002 without getting that grainy, clippy sound? will i use the 002's headphone output? or the other outputs at the back of the rack? help is much appreiated. Thanks

Hi,
I have a Rolls 6 channel and it demands +4db signal. I feed it out of my Mackie main outputs to the Rane input. I don't know the butt-end of the 002 coz I Fear The Numbers 10, 6 & 5 (I'm that guy) so maybe you're giving it -10db and it wants more power!!! Check out the output diagram in your manual for a hint. We all need MORE POWER!

the distortion is coming from driving a headphone out into a line level input of the hp amp. You HP amp wants to see line level signals, not a headphone amp output.

Use pre fader aux sends in PT routed to the line outs 3-8 on your 002 to create as many as 6 discrete mono hp mixes or 3 stereo mixes or any combination thereof.
