Default Recording Problem

Im recording vocals on my mbox unit and when I play back I hear a bunch of cracking/distortion sounds. Any suggestions why?

I've experienced that from time to time when recording. I record something, listen to it and it's distorted. When this happens to me, I usually just close down the session and re-open and I can record clean again. Just another "feature" I guess. I actually test a few seconds of something on each session just to be sure it's fine. Am I missing a true solution here?

Try another USB-port. I think i heard that stuff like this can happen if the USB-port isnt giving enough power to the mbox. I think some people where able to cure there problems by using a powered hub with only the mbox attached to it. On the other hand, i think that is someting Digidesign advises against......so i would first borrow one before buying one....

Just like Bastiaan says. Also make sure you don't have any "unnecessary" stuff in your USB ports (I haven't found this to be a problem, but others have).

I have this same problem. It is just something you have to get used to, just reopen. That is really stupid though.

Curious, are you using the IK T-Racks EQ?
