ADC weirdness
First time I'm seeing this...
I did just upgrade to 7.4cs8, so maybe it's a new bug...? my longest latency is 964, yet most of my tracks are being delayed by 1837. I've never seen this before and don't understand it. system is ... Mac G5 Dual 2G, 4GB, PT HD2 Accel (PCI), Rosetta 800, same as yesterday, only more fun to deal with today. addl info: all my fx returns are only delaying to 964, but all my tracks are delayed to add up to 1837, all are bused to the same stereo aux. |

Re: ADC weirdness
Start Removing plug-ins one at a time and see which one is causing the delay

Re: ADC weirdness
It might be that there actually *IS* something strange going on, becuause im 100% sure Digidesign is now focusing on PT8 and every fix to previous platform can be compromised.
I don't know how it is, but I'd say if possible test the session with a previous version and if it's okay just use the old one. CS updates are meant to fix a very specific problem anyways, so if your system is not affected then you're not supposed to install the update. The dot-something releases are for everyone.

Re: ADC weirdness
Do you possibly have RTAS plug-ins after TDM plug-ins on a track?
Keep in mind that RTAS plug-ins in that configuration will double the latency. |

Re: ADC weirdness
Hi Muzoid,
I reported this as a bug many months ago and it still persists. In our case the issue was to do with inactive tracks causing the ADC to calculate the wrong value. http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread...hlight=ADC+Bug Below is my original post. Check to see whether you have any inactive tracks. ----------------- I posted this many weeks ago and have not heard back from Digi regarding its status. I just upgraded to cs3 and the bug is still there. In 7.4(including cs2, cs3) the ADC bug manifests itself as follows: 1. You open a session from a previous version of PT (7.1 in our case) with 7.4 (including cs3) 2. You have some inactive tracks (like most big sessions do) 3. If an inactive track uses the same bus as an active one, PT 7.4 generates the wrong ADC value. 4. Turning ADC on/off does not make the problem go away 5. Problem is plugin independent - my example session has only one plugin 6. Deleting the inactive track forces PT to calculate the correct ADC value We have a session which demonstrates the problem. ADC Bug Example Session 1. When you first open the session, you will see that the ADC values are incorrect. If you do not have LINEQ, use any other plugin with a suitably long latency. The audio on that track does not matter. 2. The first track (the inactive one), is the one causing the problem. You will see that, if you delete that inactive track, the ADC values magically correct themselves. Digi, is there a timescale/status on the bug. It is delaying our migration to 7.4 (we cannot reliably trust any of our old sessions under 7.4) Osman
