Default Fan noise: testing the 2018 MBP 13 inch I5 vs I7

We've got both of these versions of the 13 inch in house right now running identical systems.

Is it just me or does the I7 run the fans quite a bit hotter than the quad core I5?

The i7 gets hotter, therefor the fans need to do more work. Has always been that way and with Apple's (thermally speaking) stupid design especially of the Macbooks and MacMinis - if you need a quieter machine, don't opt for the i7.

I know right.

We are excited about the form factor of the 13 inch, but am concerned about fan noise on the I7.

Technically speaking the I5 quad core is pretty fast for most music production jobs IMHO.

Agreed, the 2019 13" is a pretty good machine for not too taxing work. Even the entry model.
