Projectmix M-Powered and multiple inputs
Hi,
Can anyone help - I run PT M-Powered and a Projectmix and would like to record a band live, using more than the 8 inputs available on the PMIO. Does anyone know how I could do this so that all of the tracks appear in their own track in PT? The issue is not number of tracks in PT, but the inputs available on the PMIO I think. Can I use the SPDIF or ADAT connection to take say, the drums from another mixer, with each mike coming in as its own track in PT? Thanks. |

Re: Projectmix M-Powered and multiple inputs
Thanks for that, looks awesome. What do the input selections look like in Pro Tools when the MOTU is connected? Any chance of a quick screen dump? Thanks, SL

Re: Projectmix M-Powered and multiple inputs
You could also get the ProFire 2626. That's got the same 'standalone' mode that the MOTU does and you're keeping it all in the same brand family.
When in PT, either way, you'll select the 'Adat 1-8' inputs. They'll function like 9-16. The kicker in either case is making sure you set the MOTU or the ProFire in standalone mode, and not try and use it as your audio interface. Things don't seem to work out well when you've got two interfaces plugged in at the same time. |

Re: Projectmix M-Powered and multiple inputs
The one thing that I like about the 8pre is the metering and the independent phantom power per channel. Lack of Word Clock is a bummer but I just ordered a Big Ben which converts to ADAT so all it good.

Thanks to both of you, have had a look at both and will see where I go from here. Cheers,
