Default "The track could not be record enabled..."

Hi

I'm running Pro Tools 10 with an MBox mini plugged into a 2.7 ghz retina MBP with 16 GB ram (running OSX 10.8.4).

When I start a session and create a mono track then go to record enable it I get this message:

"The track could not be record enabled because it doesn't have both an active input and output assigned"

I'll say up front, I'm not a pro user I'm a voice over who occasionally uses this software. I've had an mbox of one kind or another for about 10 years and have always managed to make it work (eventually). But I've been tinkering with this for ages and don't seem to be able to fix it.

FYI the Mbox has one channel into it and there's a Sennheiser shot gun mike plugged into it.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ewan

Is the Mbox the selected device under Setup>Audio Engine? After that, try selecting the input and output on the track you wish to record to.

Hi. Thanks for the reply.

I think I've done as you suggested. However, when I click the "input" button on the track and the drop down appears listing "interface" and "bus" - when I go to interface there's nothing listed for me to select.

There should be an option, shouldn't there? There's plenty on the "bus" drop down - but I don't think that's a what I need.
