Save session, close session, open session next day...clips have moved.
That's what's somehow happening here. :/
I've been mixing a song for 12hrs yesterday, no problems, all fine. Take my computer home from the studio, open the same session today and the two tracks that I 'committed' to are both shifted forward, randomly. Same goes for all old backup sessions, same clips are shifted to the new position. I check the clip info and the original and user time-stamp are both what it originally was and should be. So moving them back is not an issue but it happening is. How can that be and how I prevent that from happening? Help please! Thanks! How big is your ram cache?
how long do you wait to play.? Do you wait until ram cache is green? And has loaded all files to ram. It takes more than a minute. Do you have ECC ram? Can you install 12.3.1 ? The tracks have physically moved? Or they sound they moved? |

Re: Save session, close session, open session next day...clips have moved.
Hey Juan,
It's not a RAM issue, the clips have physically moved to a new location within the session (haven't touched the audio files itself though!). Just remembered the same thing happened a few days ago with two clips in another song but back then I thought I may have accidentally pressed a key and moved them back manually. Think it was the same about reopening the session later or the next day. Cheers, Peter Last edited by ptr22; 02-12-2016 at 03:31 PM. |

Re: Save session, close session, open session next day...clips have moved.
This happened to me once - a committed track at the end of the session moved to way earlier in the session. It was in the wrong place in a backup I had copied to another drive as well. I believe this is when I was running 12.3.1, may have been 12.4 already. Hasn't happened since, fortunately.

Early cloud collaboration with an unwanted friend maybe? .. Sorry.. it's not funny..

Have you tried opening from an earlier session file backup? Maybe one of those is okay.

Elastic Audio enabled on those tracks? Timebase for those tracks set to ticks or samples?

Default settings on..no Elastic Audio, not in ticks...it's in samples. Hasn't happened since but since it happened at least twice on this album...not cool!
Thanks, Peter |
