Default OT: MIDI Volume Control

Hello, and Merry Christmas to all!

What pedal would you suggest for sending MIDI volume messages to soft synths via a keyboard? I'm using the MPK 61 by AKAI.

Thanx!

I would think most any keyboard expression pedal would work(as long as the controller has an input on it for an expression pedel or CC pedal/control).

Now, remember Expression isn't Volume.

.... so, what would you recommend as an alternative or more effective solution?

Ohhh... no, no, what has been recommended is fine, I'm pointing out that CC7 is MIDI Volume (Tone Amplitude) and CC11 is Expression (Tone Brightness).

This is interesting! I wonder what stores mean when they offer an "expression pedal" for sale?

So, what I really need is a "volume" pedal, for organ stuff. *scratch chin*

Expression and MIDI Volume pedals are generally one and the same thing. It's differences lay in the sound module itself where CC7 and CC11 are differentiated. That is not all sound modules support layering timbres (Tonal Brightness). But most Expression pedals support multiple reassignments.
