seperating midi notes into individual tracks.

Re: seperating midi notes into individual tracks.
Select/highlight the MIDI region. Go to Event (menu) -> Event operations -> Select/split notes.
Under Pitch criteria you select all notes, and under Action you select Split notes: A new track per pitch.

Re: seperating midi notes into individual tracks.
thank you so much. It worked with no problem. Now maybe i could as a second part. What is the fastest way to take each of the drum notes and do what i did by seperating them as each with its own midi track but rather divide them into there own midi tracks, divide them into there own audio tracks so i can add plugins such as the drumagog samples to each drum for individual tweaking.

Re: seperating midi notes into individual tracks.
That depends on which plugin you're using for your drum sounds/samples. If it's a plugin that has multiple outputs you can buss each plugin output (i.e. kick, snare, hats...) to it's own dedicated audio track, and record them all in one pass. This method doesn't require that you separate the MIDI in advance.
What do you use for drums?

Re: seperating midi notes into individual tracks.
well im planning on getting drumagog. Its a drum replacement system. But its meant to replace audio. But since i dont play drums and record with mics, i just use a dr-670 drum machine and pencil in the midi manually. So i would like to be able to pencil in on the midi grid the whole drum track, then seperate all the drums into there own AUDIO tracks, then add the drumagog plugin in each track and choose a sample for each drum. Hope that makes sense.

Re: seperating midi notes into individual tracks.
Not familiar with that drum machine, but if it doesn't have multiple outputs you need to solo each element of the "kit", and record them separately as audio. So, solo the MIDI track with the kick, and record it as audio. Move on to the snare, and so on.
Makes sense?
