I have to say that Might As Well Go For a Soda is still one of my all-time favorites..

Kim was underrated in my opinion... funny guy too.

Oh man... April Wine... so underrated.

I like to Rock, Just Between You and Me, Sign of the Gipsy Queen... what a killer band.

Time to call up Q107 and have them declare it 80s day.

And if you're going to talk Headpins - then what about Chilliwack - and Teenage Head or Carole Pope with Rough Trade (think High School Confidential, pure raunch) and even Triumph (whose drummer, Gil Moore, owns the iconic Metalworks Studios) - and one of the best, but underrated guitarists in Canada, David Wilcox.

Cheers,

Ahhhh I just realized none of us mentioned the great Jeff Healy! What a legend... And responsible for quite possibly the greatest Beatles cover ever. :)

What about BTO? They were more of a 70's band perhaps.. along with The Guess Who..

The borders get a little blurry for me.. That's why I moved to Oz.. (then again, so do the decades).. sigh

Dan, you're absolutley right and I just gave myself a forehead slap.

Last time I saw Mr. Healey was at his club in the basement of the Paddock and he was doing jazz on, IIRC, a trumpet.

There was another night long before that, in another, small club when I was in the middle of the floor with the rest of the crowd, standing watching the night's act and I felt something brushing my leg a few times. I looked behind me and it was none other than Jeff Healey and it was his cane that had tapped my leg. He stayed for a bit to catch the act.

Interestingly, I looked behind me and went, "Huh, Jeff Healey." Then nudged one of my friends and whispered that Jeff Healey was behind us. He looked around and had basically the same reaction. In typical Canadian fashion, we both saw the star, acknowledged to ourselves that it was indeed the star, then left the star alone.

Thanks for the memories,

Bruce

I resurrect this thread with a new twist. Today for me is Little Mountain Sound day. Everything I can find that had any production done at Vancouver’s Little Mountain Sound up through 1992 is in heavy rotation.

Thanks Tom. I quickly came to the conclusion that it’ll have to be Little Mountain week for me. A day barely scratched the surface when I need time to work and sleep.
