Unhappy Mbox 2 USB Family Drivers - Oct 17 update - Youtube shuts off USB + other problems

Hey guys,

I just downloaded the updated drivers for my Mbox 2 mini. The last update gave me problems it appears this one does as well. Every time I open a youtube video while the USB is plugged in and my monitors are hooked up the USB slots on my Macbook Pro completely shut off on me. The only way to get it to work again is by restarting the computer.

Also, after a while this crackling noise comes in and forces me to take out the USB and then put it back in again. After then it is fine for a while, until the problem persists.

I have a Macbook Pro running the latest version of Mountain Lion (10.8.2). I have 8 gigs of RAM and a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 processor. If there's anything else I need to include just ask.

Do I have to wait for the next update or is there anything that I can do to fix this?

Thanks!

is there any version of those mini drivers that worked for you?

any other issues related to USB powered devices?

Works just fine when watching youtuber w/o the interface plugged in?

What is your core audio device?

What version of PT ?

Default Re: Mbox 2 USB Family Drivers - Oct 17 update - Youtube shuts off USB + other proble

Hello!

I have a very similar situation here, with me I can start my MBP and work in PT with no problems, but as soon as I open any web browser or iTunes the Mbox 2 shuts off (even with PT closed after using it).
Also when I start my computer and open iTunes, after a while my monitors start producing noise and after a bit or when the song changes the Mbox shuts off like if it was not recognised or the drivers were not installed.

Restarting shouldn't be the solution with this powerful laptops.

I use an Mbox 2 with the 1.43 firmware.

This is starting to get annoying, it seems that the problem is the USB ports of the MBP Retina.

Maybe we should post this in a different category.

I hope someone figured it out.

Thanks!
