How to Run Pro Tools as a Plug-In
Do you love the Instrument Expansion pack but hate Pro Tools' vast wealth of limitations?
Then run Pro Tools as a Plug In Here's how: Use virtual midi and virtual audio, and run all on the same computer to cut down on latency Use a IAC midi bus on MAC, or Virtual Midi Cable on PC Buy an audio device with an Audio Loopback feature so the audio never leaves the computer. Assign both programs to the same audio device so this is possible. Set buffers low. Then minimize Pro Tools and stick it in the corner to use as little as possible Situation salvaged With this arrangement you get out of having to buy $10,000-20,000 pci-e/io systems, or Clunky Thousand dollar Euphonix controllers, or deal with Cumbersome poor quality Clunky Maudio "Hypo" controllers (only controls one plug in at a time) (midi controllers on other daws can control as many plug ins as you have knobs on the controller... and simultaneously) So you will thrive on your new found ability to use MIDI features And on some have 64bit native I mean take your pick Logic, Ableton, DP, Cubase, Cakewalk... Re: How to Run Pro Tools as a Plug-In
Some people just talk about limitations ... and some people are simply able to use it and use it's potential ...

Ah .. you think so wise man? I'm working with DAWs since over 15 years .... Cubase ... Logic ... Live ... whatever .. and Pro Tools. Strange I own still Pro Tools ... but all others ... are sold.
Have a nice day. Make some music. |

Re: How to Run Pro Tools as a Plug-In
15 years eh? then your point of view is grandfathered in
More likely: You either work for AVID and are on their payroll or you've made the big investment in HD and are in denial And Yes I'll make some music. But I'll use Midi to do it.. Not the unassignable parameter values 1-1056(or whatever it is) |

Re: How to Run Pro Tools as a Plug-In
silly ... not with avid (my job has nothing to do with music .. but I wish it would) ... no HD. Pure native user and satisfied.
And now for something completly different ..... |

Thanks a lot mate. I am installing Reaper today and was curious as to how I could use PT virtual instruments in it. Pretty funny that Pro Tools will now be relegated to the status of "plug-in" on my computer. |

Re: How to Run Pro Tools as a Plug-In
And clearly you do work for AVID. Why would you waste your time responding to posts with blocking answers.
Running Pro Tools as a Plug In is actually a good idea. A good way to salvage many people's situation |
