Default touchscreen anybody??

Is anybody using PT or Logic with a touchscreen?

A nice huge 21´ monitor would (theoretically) be such a nice way of working:
No searching for the cursor anymore.

I´ve never even seen one. Are they too slow / expensive, etc.?

All the best, Jochen

I haven't seen it yet. Most touch screen technology is pretty cost prohibitive. A year or so back I was doing some work with some A/V contractors and we used a lot of touch screen technology in our AMX A/V control systems. These were usually a table top portable LCD in the 10" to 14" range. The ones that supported SVGA input sources were in the $5000 range. I always thought that these would make great little studio toys but only for those who have more money than ten of me.

Check out http://www.pixeltouch.com

I've used their touch screens for lots of purposes but not digi. Their prices are okay for the most part.

Check out the Iiyama product range - they have some very interesting touchscreen displays, some of them LCD. I looked at this idea very carefully, but felt that the one screen I had a play with (not an Iiyama) was a little slower than using a mouse when dragging a fader and somewhat inaccurate- nice idea but maybe a little early?

Thanks for the URL. They don´t seem to be THAT expensive. I still have to find a vendor in Germany.
Are these touchscreens slow? So far I´ve only seen them with some stupid kiosk-systems (slow) and on a Korg Synth (very slow).
