Default c24 not responding

Hi everyone. First post here. Great forum by the way...

So my problem is something that just happened randomly one day. I turned everything as normal and started Pro Tools HD. And all the sudden when I pressed the play button on the c24, nothing happened. The board is on and everything looks normal. So I fiddle with the faders on the board and they come back to their original position after I let go. Mute, solo, pan, none of the buttons work.

But when I do any changes like solo or mute with my mouse on the computer, it does change on the c24. It's like a one way phone. From the computer everything works with the c24, but from the c24 to the computer nothing works.

The only buttons that work on the c24 are the monitor nobs and all those outputs. Anything that could also be done on the computer does not work on the board.

I am new to the board and I think it is couple months old.

I hope it's a setting that I need to set... although I did read some posts about others having sort of same problem as me and finding out that it had something to do with power and replacing something...

Is that my issue also?

Thanks

Hm, I'm not on the unit at the moment but you think I should run a test in "Utility Mode"? Which test should I run?

Run the 'Vegas' test. Which is all faders and all three colors of the LEDS.

Also, I would reset all analog paths, including the monitor path.
I am also not in front of the C/24 at the moment. When I get to the studio I will post a few more things to try!!

Good Luck

Okay. I'll see if I can get in there Monday and try that out. You are aware that the board faders do move when I move the faders on the computer?

Thanks again.

How about when ya move the fader on the C/24? Does the fader in the software move too?

PT sees the C/24 in the top menu too? under the ethernet controllers?

Do you have the Ethernet Loopback connector? There is a way to check the ethernet stages.

Reset the Analog Signal Routing. This is in the utilities menu.

Nope. When I move faders from C24 the software ones don't move. So the faders go back to their original state on the c24.

Ya I checked the ethernet controls and it was pink or some color which means it had recognized it.

I have couple things to try now. Ill let you know when I do. Thanks

We are having the exact same problem that the OP describes on our c24. We are new to the board as well. Rebooting the Mac doesnt seem to help. We went into Utility and reset analog paths, but no difference.

We can control from ProTools 8, but c24 doesnt respond, only the Monitor buttons work.

When you said it "rebooted" what did you reboot? We have rebooted several times! Help!! It was all working fine for the last 4 weeks, then bam! right before rehearsal the c24 goes into lala land.
