Pro Tools will import mp4 fine then next day won't play it or re import it

I'm trying to recreate sound from a video. It is an mp4 and when I first imported it the video played back fine and I was able to record audio over it. I exit out and come back the next day open up the session and all of sudden it won't play back video, saying it can't display video thumbnails. I try re importing the same mp4 file but now I get missing CODEC error. Can anyone tell me why pro tools is acting this way.

I use Mac Book Pro with Pro Tools 11

Processor 2 GHz Intel Core i7 4GB RAM

Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)

Could be your system - PT11 wants a minimum of 8 gig ram and OSX 10.8.4 and if all you have is a 2GHz cpu that could be an issue as well. Have you optimized your system and are you using a separate hard drive for PT to work with? You got lucky things worked once.
