Default Digi 002 Rack SPDIF Out not sending to my headphone amp

Just got the rack today and setup has gone well until now.

Oh my word, I have looked everywhere on the internet and i guess I'm using the wrong search terms.

Pro Tools 8.0.5 (Windows)

Previously I was using an Mbox2 and was able to run SPDIF to my headphone amp. No extra set-up necessary.

Today I've been sitting here for 4 hours trying to do the same thing with my new Digi 002.

Is this even possible, or should I give up.

Please help.

What headphone amp has SPDIF input? Did you go to Setup>IO>Output tab and see the path for SPDIF(17&18)? If it doesn't show, try adding the path and assign it on the grid, or hit the DEFAULT button.

So the output of the master track or whatever track you want to hear is set to use that S/PDIF L/R output?

Show us the mix window with all IO input/input assignments show.

Do you have "Mirror main outputs" set up? See the 002 documentation.

What exact connection are you using on the 002? Going to exaclty what on the headphone amp? What version of Pro Tools, etc. All the things that are typically useful here. Start at the "Help us Help You - READ THIS Before Posting!" link on this page.

If not then that is not going to work, without mirroring. You need an output IO assigned to "S/PDIF L/R" just try setting that for the master fader track Output IO.

I tried working through the "Mirroring" thing in the 002 manual. I don't seem to have some of the menus they mention so that's probably it.

Pro Tools LE 8.0.5
Win 7
Going from "SPDIF OUT" on the back of the 002 to "SPDIF IN" on the headphone amp.

I just thought maybe there was something I was missing about mirroring, but maybe it's not even possible with my setup.

Why info like that is useful. I am pretty sure mirroring was taken away in or around LE 8. You can read past posts on that here. You should look at the LE 8 version of the 002 Doc and mirroring is probalby not there.

So directly assign a track output to the S/PDIF. Did you try that?
