Default Fender Mustang Amp With Pro Tools 9?

I am new to Pro Tools and am soon hoping to record a few songs. I own a Fender Mustang I Amp that has a USB attached. This has a MIDI device with the amp etc.

All I wanted to know was if this amp is compatible with Pro Tools 9. If it does work with it then I will not have to purchase an effects pedal and audio interface for my guitar.

PLEASE someone help me out and I will be highly grateful.

That amp is just a small combo, right? There's no reason why it wouldnt be compatible. How are you planning to record with it....mic? direct?

A little more information on your host would help, however I dug this up on the Fender FAQ website;

"Windows computer, you will need to install the Fender ASIO driver. Once you have installed this driver, you can use the DAW software of your choice, and select the Fender Mustang amp as the input or record device. You will then select your chosen playback device for playback.

When using the Fender Mustang with your Mac computer, you can simply plug in the amp, and select it as the record device in your DAW software. When using a Mac, there are no drivers necessary. You will want to select either the built playback or a device of your choice for playback."

Hope this gets you on your way....

What interface are you going to be using with PT9 & your Amp?

I beleive the amp itself provides a USB audio interface along with modeling.

At the risk of going WAY out on a limb I'll say if the Fender ASIO driver is compliant with Windows 7 it should work with PT9. And yes thats speculation. How well it works is going to depend on how well its written.

I would be curious as to whether ASIO4ALL works with the Fender Mustang... that being said I don't know whether the OP is running MAC or Windows.

Ok I'll re-phrase my question; What interface are you going to be using with PT9 & your computer? I ask this because I think herein lies the problem.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the OP is asking if the Mustang can be used as an interface their documentation stating that by installing the Fender ASIO driver "you can use the DAW software of your choice, and select the Fender Mustang amp as the input or record device".

However, I honestly don't know anyone that has tried it.

I guess we need a little more info from the OP....

A little more digging on the Fender site; "The Fender® Mustang™is capable of recording audio into DAW (digital audio workstation) software applications such as Ableton Live Lite 8 Fender Edition (included with the Fender Mustang amps). In order to record sound in to your computer, you will need to have a playback device installed. The Fender Mustang amps provide audio recording only, and not playback. You can use your built in sound device or a third-party device for your playback."

Not sure what that's telling me... it's half an interface? Input only?

I dunno....
