Default Connecting MboxPro3 with FW extender

Hello everyone.
After years of dreaming about it, I'm building a small home studio.
I'm planning to use Mbox Pro 3 with Mac. My desk will be quite far from the machine room, so to connect my hardware to the mac (15m/50ft wiring in the walls) I'm thinking of using firewire on lan box. Does anyone here have some experience with that configuration?
Thanks A LOT!

What are your In/Out audio options. Why do you feel you need to have the MBox right next to you? With the new software for it, you can do ANYTHING via the computer that you could do physically on the MBox.

Hi,
I'll need to control the volume, does the software override the physical knob?

Yes, the software for the MBox 3 allows complete control of OUTPUT volume... is that what you mean, or input gain?
