Default Shortcut for "Duplicate Backwards" ?

Highlighting a Bar of click, and hitting Cmd+D - obviously duplicates the region forward, into the timeline.

WITHOUT - converting the audio to Elastic Audio, and using the Loop TCE Tool to pull the region Back...

Is there a Shortcut to duplicate, or paste "Backward" in the timeline to "Previous Bars" ?

Cmd-Opt-Ctrl-click the region. This will copy and place the copied region's end butted up against the beginning of the copied region.

Just to clarify, you must have the Grabber (hand tool) selected for this to work.

Thats not really duplicating backwards butted up to the region in the real sense of the what he is asking for (correct me if I'm wrong).

It's really spotting the region to the edit cursor which I assume is in the same place as the playback head.
Try unlinking timeline and edit and then put the edit cursor 5 bars back or forward in time and see what happens. The region will butt to there.

There is no duplicate backwards command in the real sense but have wished there was many times.

This method works most of the time but just be aware that it's a work around.

I have a different workaround for this one, which works with selections as well: Just select the region(s) or the selection you want to duplicate backwards, hit "K" as many times as you want duplicates and then cmd-D to fill it up again. Fastest way for me.

Cheers, Martin

Yeah thats a good one - I wonder if there is a way around it when timeline and edit are unlinked?

I will make a feature request for duplicating backwards.

Hmm... that's interesting... what IS "K" actually doing? I don't know all my command Focus shortcuts, but it seems as though it's "Moving selection back it's length"

What's the "Command Name" for this??

I have no idea, but "moving selection back it's length" would be my best guess, too.

Snap end (of selected region) to Playhead (HD systems only).
