Pro Tools 10 and Media Composer 7
These two will not work together according to Avid due to a driver issue. After speaking with the Media Composer side and the Pro Tools side on the phone, it was told to me that there is a workaround someone here may know to make PT-10 and MC-7 work together on the same computer. I would appreciate anyones help in this matter. Also, I was told that PT-11 will work with MC-7 but when I asked Avid if there would still be issues running PT-10 and !! on the same machine I was told that that scenario would still cause the driver issues. Not willing to let go of my vast 32 bit plug in library, the ideal thing for me would be to have MC-7, PT's 10 and 11 happily living together under the same roof. Thanks for your help.
osx 10.8.5 PT-10.3.5 Media Composer 7 Mac Mini 8 gig ram 2.3 Ghz Intel Core i7 Also using a 002 rack and I know it's not supported, so the PT-11 upgrade may be a mute point, but if I could get MC-10 to work with PT-10 I'd be a happy camper. Or, if anybody knows how to make that situation work that would be great too. I know I'm asking a lot, but it's my birthday.

I haven't tried a co-install but but you could have more than one Boot Disk and boot into the System you need not Ideal but if you put them on SSDs the switch wouldn't be to bad

Re: Pro Tools 10 and Media Composer 7
Thanks, Craig. The folks at Avid said that there were users that know of a workaround for this issue. I'm not familiar, or should I say anxious to try two boot systems. I've heard of issues with Pro Tools doing so. I use my Pro Tools software more than Media Composer at this point and worry about taking a chance on screwing up the main tool I use for my business. Do you know if there are users successfully using oo2 rack with PT-11? I've been holding off purchasing 11 not wanting to invest in another interface at this time. If I could get some concrete answers to that question I would just buy 11 because I've been told that it works side by side with MC-7.

Re: Pro Tools 10 and Media Composer 7
In my last job we use to run Pro Tools and Media Composer on separate partitions and had a Boot Loader let you select what you wanted
Then we got a co-install working with MC6 and PT10 (as well as FCP7 and Adobe CS) I haven't tried MC7 and PT11 There were some post about co-installs when the software shipped Try looking in the Post and Surround section
