OK so ProTools Control iPad app is now out. Looks great. Works with the S3 - brilliant. Can we use it to control Venue software? If not will there be a version that does?

So...... Christmas is approaching very fast..... Any news on some software updates?
I have a show on November 27 where it would come in very handy to have the iPad app working.

I spoke with an Avid rep at WFX in Nashville this weekend. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there will never be an SC48 or Profile iPad app. The upcoming app will only be for the S6L and S3L-X.

The reason he gave me was that the older consoles were based on win xp, which is a single user architecture, and that the new consoles were based on win8, which has a multi user architecture. I guess the single user issue makes it impossible to connect the iPad app because only one user can access the console at a time.

Just 1 thing - aren`t the Digicos also based on XP?
They have an IPAD App already - so that shouldnt be the issue...

The Answer i got on the ISE fair in Amsterdam was: "oh, we didn't know that an iPad app was something our customers want"

So I wouldn't hold my breath for it .... Probably the only way to get an iPad app is to buy another mixer, at least that is what I am thinking about

Why would anyone NOT want an iPad app. It defies logic!
Is it not the most requested missing feature of the S3L-X?
Could someone from Avid come on here and say they are at least working on it?

AVID OFFICIAL??? Any comment?

When i bougth the S3L i was told that the ipad app was under Development.

2013??? This is a major showstopper for me.

Midas, Behringer, Roland, Soundcraft, Yamaha, Presonus +++ are ALL IN

So AVID COME ON !!!

Ryan told that they are working on it, and yes, it is the most requested feature on ideascale.
But from an answer like the one I got ( even if it might have been a joke) I suppose it is not something with a high priority for avid.
