Default Pro Tools hangs when closing plugin window
So I have this really strange problem happening with a certain plugin (Expert Sleepers Silent Way Voice Controller).

If I use the plugin then close the plugin window, Pro Tools will freeze, give me a "send crash log to Avid" window and then just hang there until I force quit it. I have sent the log to Avid but haven't heard anything about it.

The weird thing is that if I tweak parameters in the plugin then click on the edit window behind the plugin and hit play for a few seconds THEN close the plugin window, Pro Tools doesn't crash . It's so weird, I really have no idea why this would happen.

I have updated my graphics driver, and followed the steps in that Avid optimizations list they have posted on the site.

Any ideas?!?!

Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

I would report this to the plugin maker. I've never seen that here, but I don't own that plugin At the very least, check that you have the latest version and maybe uninstall and re-install it.

Yeah, I contacted the maker and they have no idea... and I uninstalled it/reinstalled and even rolled back a version and still happens

Some OEM's will actively hunt for fixes others will blow you off and forget about you.


Ask them if they can reproduce the problem on their Side.


If they still blow you off, do not support them financially,

I have just tried it on 12.7 and 12.8 and it doesn't work on either.

certain plugins will glitch up on me if I open them up while PT's timeline is running but they don't do it when the timeline is not running....PT's10 native
