Default weird sound in NEW rig

So i just upgraded my rig with a new mbox2 factory. Setting up a session in PT, creating a mono audio track, and set up my mic to record me playing guitar. as soon as i turned phantom on i got this weird static sound during monitoring and playback once every 1-3 seconds. When i create a vst to play on my oxygen 49 its perfect, no artifacts. please help very frustrating

USB drives are not supported as audio recording drives with Pro Tools. For reasons just like this.

The bluetooth and wireless network cards should be disabled while running Pro Tools as well.

You also need to make sure that windows is set to not power down the USB root hubs.

You also might want to try a different USB port.
