Default Scrolling option key commands

Hi,

I'm new to ProTools coming from Cubase-Logic-S1-Reaper.
Is it possible there is no key command for the scrolling option?
Not even in pro control?

I've been searching it for days and I'm starting thinking there really you have to go through the menu for a function I use any single moment!!!

Please Help.

Best

Pretty easy to add via System Preferences if you are on Mac.
Go to System Preferences, then to Keyboard, then to Shortcuts, then to App
Shortcuts. There you can enter your own app specific shortcuts. Click the + sign, pick Pro Tools.app for application, then for Menu Title, add one of the following:
Options->Edit Window Scrolling->No Scrolling
Options->Edit Window Scrolling->After Playback
Options->Edit Window Scrolling->Page
Options->Edit Window Scrolling->Continuous
Options->Edit Window Scrolling->Center Playhead

Then click in the Keyboard Shortcut field and perform the key command you want to use. Make sure to click Add and not hit enter, or your keyboard shortcut gets replaced with Return. Repeat for each option you want a shortcut for.

Make sure that the keystrokes you want to use are not already used, or they won't work for the old function anymore.

Also, these can get wiped out of System Prefs when you trash Pro Tools prefs, so use a utility like Peter Gate's PT Prefs app to backup and restore your prefs, when necessary.

Hope that helps!

Thank you.
Kind of crazy no shortcuts for scrolling.

I will try with system preferences.

The keyboard maestro seems to be very complex and there are no video with protools I guess quickeys is easier.

I run away from reaper because I was spending half of the time programming shortcuts.....and here I am :)

Ah, good point. I thought the OP meant for the Scrolling Options under the Options menu, but for navigating the session, scrolling the windows horizontally and vertically, zooming in and out, and zooming waveform heights, I definitely use my Kensington Trackball's scroll wheel as well.

I imagine it's not a request they've received often since people tend to pick one method and stick with it, though I agree -- 'twould be nice to quickly switch between page scrolling and no scrolling.

If you use Eucon and have an iPad, you can set scrolling modes in the user soft keys area

I do, and I do, and I do (but tend to forget that the function is there. Doh!).
