Artist (Euphonix) MC Mix: A few issues

Hi there,

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am using Pro Tools HD 11.3.1 on a Mac Book Pro Retina 15" early 2013. I'm trying to figure this out on OS 10.10.5 and 10.11.3 (I seem to have more luck with 10.11.3 but the problems go for both OSs).

I am using a USB to Ethernet adaptor connected to the computer via a HUB.

I can get the MC Mix sometimes. But after a short 10-15 minute) period the Eucon symbol in the menu bar becomes greyed out and the controller stops responding.

I have a few questions for those that may know definitive answers.

1. Should I be using a static IP address on both computer and controller? I have tried this and manually, and have more success with manually i.e. it woks for a while. When I enter a static ip address it appears as available, but I get a network error when I try to "Add" it In the Econ control settings > Surfaces tab.

2. In the Eucon Preference pane in System preferences under "Network Interface" I can only see WiFi. Any ida why this might be the case? On 10.9 I had various option including the Apple Ethernet to USB adaptor.

3. Is it a bad idea to use the ethernet to USB adaptor?

4. Is it a bad idea to connect via a USB Hub?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Bypass the hub and see. Also make sure that you are running the latest Eucon software and firmware.

Indeed the rub was in the hub...

All working well now. Just need to figure out how to plug everything else in!
