Tap Tempo - Axiom 25 and Microkorg XL

I'm trying to assign one of the drum pads to act as a tap tempo button to control the tempo of my Microkorg XL. I've found a bunch of things on the internet about this but no real answers. I also don't see a CC for tempo on the list in Enigma.

Is this possible or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Another solution I was trying to swing was tapping the tempo on my KP3, MIDI Out to the Axiom's In and then out to a Dave Smith Mopho with the MIDI out set to through and then out to the Microkorg. This set up is working to allow me to independently change patches on the Mopho using some of the drum pads and on the Microkorg using the transport controls but the Mkorg isn't accepting the tempo/clock commands (it is set to receive clock data from the Midi port and the channels are set up properly). If I connect the KP3 directly to the Micro, it sends the clock data no problem but then I lose the program change ability which I need for live performance. Would I need to set the Axiom's MIDI out to thru as well? Is that even possible?

What exactly do you want to achieve here? Is this for a live setup?

Yea, for live use. Basically, I want to be able to use some of the arpeggios on the MicroKorg while playing with a drummer.
