Default Avid reviews Structure update.

It looks like Avid has been hearing us loud and clear. It appears they may be reviewing the Structure update release according to some recent news on the AIR Users Blog. You'll find the recent news at the bottom. Let's hope they do the right thing and not just "listen".

Well, they already got my money. Upgrading the whole package was a no-brainer for me since I already bought Structure and Velvet, but really wanted to try some of the other plug ins. Maybe I will start projects in PT now instead of Logic.

The main gripe about Structure is that it NEVER worked properly. Transfuser on the other hand did work.

If that person who made that decision did not think there was going to be a back lash, then that person has rocks in their head. To little too late, seriously.

I agree that the damage is done. A price reduction 6 weeks from now when Avid finished mulling it over is not going to do anything to help those who needed the update (that they had been waiting three years for) when it came out. Its not like there wasn't any discussion of the pricing in the forums either. It had been a topic of great whinage for months.

Being one the growing crowd of ex-fanboy fence sitters, I must say ... I am not impressed.

That announcement doesn't mean a thing to me. It's nothing more than a form letter post saying that "we'll think about it."

I still have zero optimism after reading that. As has been said, they KNEW this kind of backlash would come but they decided to charge for the upgrade anyway. Whether to charge or not was discussed inside Avid long before the forum got fired up about it. This isn't new data for them. Yes, it's driven by off-the-charts greed, so they don't care. Their financial bottom line is more important than doing the right thing for the customers who put them where they are.

After all this, I seriously doubt the quality of Avids managers!
They should apply some common sense!
They act as if they are in a corporate ivory tower!?

If they continue to act as slow and "ignorant" as this, I seriously start to worry more about Avid's and PT's future.
