Default Cannot Get Pro Tools to Work on HP Envy Laptop

Hi folks, I'm really hoping somebody out there can help me.

I am an experienced Pro Tools user and pretty up to speed with how it can be troublesome to get it working glitch free etc. However, I am at my wits end attempting to get it working with my new laptop.

My laptop is an AMD HP Envy running Windows 10 (Sandra report to follow). So far I have attempted:

- Installing Pro Tools 10
- Installing Pro Tools 11
- Installing Pro Tools First (which I am using as a test rig before paying for the upgrade to the latest version, as it is my understanding the underlying code is the same)

I am aware that both PT 10 and 11 are not certified to work with Windows 10 and that current versions of PT are not certified to work with AMD processors, so I am just unlucky to have a PC that is unable to run the software?

Both Pro Tools 10 and 11 installed and opened, but were glitchy in operation. Pro Tools Free takes an age to load and takes about 30 seconds to respond to each mouse click. I did get it to play and record, but it now just shows a flashing play button and illuminated blue stop button.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Rog

Ah, just realised, the reason why Pro Tools first wasn't playing was because the USB lead had come out of my interface...! However, it is still very 'laggy'.

For reference, I am using a presonus audiobox, but have also used asio4all and my behringer x32

as much as i see , very low on memory and
only integrated graphics which shares also the little available ram with the cpu, not recommended ,

maybe if you upgrade ram to 16 gb minimum
there "may" be a chance , but i doubt...
also ryzen may be picky with pt , intel recommended

Hi,

A quick update. I found the unresponsiveness was down to the 'backup to cloud' option being enabled. Maybe a conflict with my network card, or something...

Anyhow, I am pleased to report I have since purchased the full licence of Pro Tools and am running it successfully on both my AMD Ryzen Laptop and older AMD Phenom desktop (I have no need for backup to cloud!).

Thanks,
Roger
