Default Automating Volume Fade at the end of a song

I have read and searched through the new 7.4 reference manual (it's huge) and connot readily see if I can "automate" a volume fade other than just bringing down the Master Fader at the end while in PT write automation mode.

My hands aren't as steady as they used to be. Is there a way to automate a volume fade (master) and indicate the time you want to fade to occur, e.g a 10 second fade, etc.?

Thanks.

Yes. You can draw the fade automation with the pencil tool.

For selecting a specific time frame to apply the fade, using grid editing mode set to "Min:Secs" with a resolution of seconds would be the best bet. For a straight, steady fade, with the track in "Volume" view, the pencil tool in line mode will do a pretty good job.

Most of this information can be found in Chapter 22 of the Pro Tools Reference Guide.

As always, a great forum and exceptional knowledge. I did read the part about the pencil tool but thought there might be another way via entering the fade time desired into a window or something. Thanks again! Rob
