Default problem after migrating to new computer

From one MacMini to a newer one. On the new one I get various messages when trying to launch:

Could not complete your request because No such file or directory (2) while opening "PlugIns_08f58cbc-c3a2-4ea0-9797-ed681bd947df".

"Could not create the TCE plug-in's factory default file because the plug-in doesn't support the current sample rate."

And some other message about Protools workspace database.

I can't launch it. How should I fix this?

Did you install the software from scratch on the new machine?

Thanks for asking, Goobs. No, I transferred it from the old machine (along with everything else). Apple calls that "Migrating."

Yup, very familiar with it, as I'm a certified Mac technician.

Avid/Pro Tools hates migrations. I recommend doing a clone/backup, wiping your system drive, installing the OS from scratch, then installing PT from scratch before anything else.

Then manually move over your files. Huge pain in the ass, but worth it in the end. Far less time than trying to fix the issue - trust me.

Yikes! I was hoping to avoid that. Thanks for the suggestion. Does manually moving my files mean everything in the computer moved manually? I'm barely computer literate so this scares me - I don't know many of the terms or how the machine works. I feel like I could lose something important.

I noticed that my new MacMini's Application Support folder contains no Avid folder. Thus no Audio folder & no plugins folder etc. Could this be the problem?

Would it help if I kept most of the migration but uninstalled PTF, deleted all the files, apps, folders & anything related to PTF, trashed them all, emptied the trash, then installed PTF from scratch?

Or could I move the apps manually and migrate everything else?

Sorry, didn't realize you had replied.

Do you have a Time Machine backup?

Yes. I have a hard drive currently connected to the new MacMini. I think everything gets backed up to the hard drive once an hour.
