Default A quick question on P4 workload for the veterans?

I'm finally ordering my Digi002 (was supposed to happen 6 months ago but....) yeah!!

A friend is going to sell me his MusicXPC C4 computer which is listed as a "turnkey" system for about $800.00.Seems to good to pass up although I will still be building the Allenstein computer listed in the "Best Desktop" thread.

In the meantime the C4 is a P4 3.2 and I think it should be suitable to get me up and running.

My question for those in the know is this...

I run anywhere fro 12 to 16 tracks typically with moderate plug-in use (I also have a UAD1 card that I will be using as well) will the P4 handle this moderate workload with ease or a struggle?

Has anyone used the C4 that would care to offer up an opnion?

I mainly record audio with maybe a stereo track or 2 with a soft synth and some midi drums.

Thank you in advance to anyone that would care to offer an opinion!!

Chris

Default Re: A quick question on P4 workload for the vetera

My P4 3.4C can handle any session that my Quad can. I bring home sessions from the studio to do editing and I never have to disable any plugins. It's much more stable than my Allenstein was as well (I'm using m-powered instead of my 002 this time around.) You should be fine.
