Default Converting files into WAV

Hi,

I've posted some earlier threads regarding being a new user to Pro-tools having made the move over from Cakewalk.. I'm playing around with the Essential version.. but find an issue with converting from Pro-tools to WAV... is the only way to do this by bounce to disc? This kind of rendering process takes too long for me.... does Essential make quicker conversions? And how? Because I just can't see how to?

?

Most people record there audio as wave files (some use AIFF)

are you trying to get 1 region out or a mix out

if it's a file the right click on the file in the Region Bin and use Export Region as File

if it's a mix, there is no offline bounce option

Hi Craig,

Thanks for your info.... I must be doing something wrong, as when I create a new file I always select WAV, but when saving it the only thing in the folder is a ptf? Or am I missing something somewhere?

PTF is the session information file. You should have WAVs in the Audio Files folder. It sounds like your saving the Waves files someplace other than the session folder.
